Joey has dedicated her career to supporting individuals with substance use disorders. She completed her associate’s degree in Addiction Studies and Counseling in 2016 and after three years of intensive outpatient work, she earned her CADC II certification in December 2018. She then began working with diverse populations, in particular within the Native American community.

Joey has worked with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, assisting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) who are unable to access traditional facility-based services. Her experience includes developing two DUII programs across different facilities, contributing to nine years of expertise in this area.

She has extensive experience working with probation and parole and has worked with adolescents. In September 2023, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Arizona Global Campus and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in social work through Walden University.

Joey’s skill set includes a person-centered approach, with a focus on Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Theory, Enhancement Motivation Therapy, and CBT. In the future, she aims to work with families struggling with PTSD, communication challenges, conflict resolution, and marriage counseling.
