Jack
Born and raised in Alaska, Jack is an experienced professional and passionate advocate for individuals struggling with addiction. Jack is licensed as a Chemical Dependency Counselor II (Alaska) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (Ohio). In long-term recovery himself, Jack possesses a deep personal understanding of addiction, allowing for empathetic connections that empower others to take ownership of their recovery journey.
After many years in recovery, Jack began working in withdrawal management and inpatient treatment facilities in 2014, where he was encouraged to return to school and pursue a career in professional counseling. Jack completed his BS in Addiction Counseling and obtained licensure as an addiction counselor, working primarily with incarcerated and justice-involved individuals in various rural Appalachian communities of Southeastern Ohio. He went on to complete the coursework for a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and will begin his MA program internship at Anonymous Health in January, 2025.
Jack has experience in many addiction treatment settings, such as withdrawal management, inpatient, outpatient, and as a counselor and treatment team member for Recovery Court programs in three Ohio counties. Jack practices from a strengths-based perspective rooted in the principles of Gestalt Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Drawing from personal experience, Jack combines professional knowledge with profound empathy, fostering resilience and hope.
In his spare time, Jack likes to hike, snowboard, and spend time with his family.
