Dr. Ryan Vega
Dr. Ryan Vega has crafted his entire career around supporting those who are undersupported in the healthcare system, and brings that experience and empathy with him to Anonymous Health. Prior to joining the team, Dr. Vega was revered for his extensive work with veterans and supporting their journey to getting the care they need. His work included multiple roles at McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, VA, including as the Physician Lead at the Clinical Command Center, Chief Quality Officer and an Academic Hospitalist, as well as the Liaison for Institutional House-Staff Quality and Safety Initiatives both at McGuire and the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System.
Dr. Vega’s most recognized role was as the Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Director, Healthcare Innovation for the Veterans Health Administration. It was there that he focused on advancing the VHA’s quality of care through a variety of means, including encouraging the use of healthcare technology and supporting a grassroots approach combined with innovative solutions to change patient care. Having gained first-hand knowledge of the challenges veterans face in finding personalized, supported care, Dr. Vega is well aware of how addicts face similar complications on their path to recovery, and looks forward to utilizing his awareness and expertise at Anonymous Health.
Named one of the Top 25 Emerging Leaders by Modern Healthcare in 2019, Dr. Vega is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at George Washington University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the VCU Health System in 2015 after earning his Doctor of Medicine from the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University A&M, and in 2017, earned his Masters of Science of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Vega has won many awards for his work, including the IT Innovator of the Year at the Pinnacle Awards by the WashingtonExec in 2018, the Gears of Government President’s Award from the GSA in 2020, and the 2022 Innovator Award from the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States.
