Allyson, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, is a clinical supervisor based in OrangeCounty, CA, with over eight years of experience in the mental health and behavioral health field. Born and raised in California, Allyson's passion for mental health was deeply influenced by her own experiences navigating trauma and healing. Through her personal journey, she discovered the power of therapy, resilience, and human connection—an experience that led her to dedicate her career to helping others do the same.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from VanguardUniversity, where she developed a strong understanding of social systems and their impact on mental health. She then continued atVanguard University for her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, further deepening her commitment to the field.
Allyson has worked in diverse mental health settings, includingSalvation Army, where she completed her practicum, as well as NewportAcademy, Northbound, and various residential rehabilitation centers.She has extensive experience working with substance use treatment, trauma, dual diagnosis, and mood disorders, helping clients navigate their struggles with addiction, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and relational challenges.
With a strong foundation in psychodynamic therapy, Allyson takes a relational, insight-oriented approach to treatment while incorporating evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy(CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She believes in creating a space where clients feel safe to explore their past while also equipping them with the tools needed to build a stable, fulfilling future.
Beyond her clinical work, Allyson is passionate about education and mentorship. She has taught university courses on addiction, helping future mental health professionals understand the complexities of substance use and recovery. As a clinical supervisor for the past three years, she has found immense fulfillment in training, mentoring, and empowering new therapists. She takes great pride in helping clinicians navigate their own professional and personal growth, providing them with the support, encouragement, and structure needed to develop confidence in their work.
