Responsibilities
Our team-based approach means that our clients receive support from counselors, medical providers, and peer support. This is an opportunity to be a part of an industry-changing organization. The team works together in service to our clients -- delivering a holistic clinical model based on the belief that counseling, medication, and consistent support are the foundation for achieving sustained recovery. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as a liaison between clients, the recovery community, and Anonymous Health to facilitate connections across the system of care.
- Engages with clients identified with Substance Use Disorder or impulse control disorders
- Meets with individuals that have been referred to Anonymous Health to screen for appropriateness of services, and schedule those clients that are appropriate for a counseling and/or medical assessment.
- Works collaboratively with the clinical team to implement evidence-based services to clients with substance use disorders.
- Provide education and peer-based services to support clients in achieving and maintaining recovery.
- Addresses barriers to successful recovery and serves as a role model and advocate for the client.
- Develops a relapse prevention and intervention plan with the clients and care team.
- Clearly and effectively facilitates communication between the client, PCP, psychiatrist, and other external providers while maintaining appropriate confidentiality procedures and boundaries.
- Helps clients navigate the healthcare and social service system.
- Occasionally travels to meetings with community stakeholders to spread awareness of Anonymous Health and the services we provide.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Recovery Coach, Recovery Mentor, or Peer Support Specialist.
- Minimum of 3 years in sustained recovery.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong advocacy skills along with knowledge of community based services, resources, and local recovery community.
- Comfortable with multiple pathways to recovery from substance use disorders and willingness to embrace a client-centered approach that recognizes an individual’s preferences.
- Flexibility to adapt to unforeseen needs or circumstances.
- Excels at maintaining an organized, efficient, and goal oriented approach to their work.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
